A man has been rushed to hospital after a collision on Upper Elmers End Road in Beckenham, which remains blocked in both directions this morning.
The road is shut between Altyre Way and Lloyds Way, with queueing traffic building in the area as a result of the closure. Bus routes 194, 356 and 358 are being diverted around the closure.
The London Ambulance Service said it was called at 7:28am to reports of a road traffic collision in Beckenham. An ambulance crew treated a patient at the scene before taking him to a local hospital as a priority. The incident happened just before 7:30am. It is not yet known when the road will reopen. This is a developing story and the live updates below will be refreshed as more information emerges.
Drivers travelling through Beckenham are advised to avoid the area and allow extra time for their journeys while the closure remains in place.
Elsewhere in the borough, Bromley passengers have faced a weekend of buses instead of trains during recent engineering work, while neighbours in Beckenham recently rallied round a shop family targeted by racist leaflets.
This live blog will be updated as the incident develops.
