A man has been charged over the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a motorbike in Balham almost three years ago.
Neil Morgan, 53, from Wallington, has been charged with causing the death of Seidi Abdulkhadir by dangerous driving.
Ms Abdulkhadir, from Lambeth, was a pedestrian on Kings Avenue in Balham when she was reportedly hit by a motorbike on the afternoon of 9 November 2023.
It is alleged that Morgan drove a Kawasaki motorbike dangerously, leading to her death.
The charge is an allegation at this stage. Morgan has not been convicted of the offence, and the case has not yet been tried.
He was not asked to enter a plea, and the case has been sent to the Old Bailey. The next hearing is due to take place on 11 November.
Being sent to the Old Bailey means the case will be dealt with at the Crown Court, where the next steps — including any plea — will be taken in due course. No trial date has been confirmed at this stage, and no further details of the hearing have been released.
Kings Avenue runs through Balham in the London Borough of Wandsworth, a busy residential area in south London. The charge follows an investigation into a collision that took place in November 2023, and it is the first court milestone in the case to be made public.
