Slipknot announce only UK and Europe show of 2027 at Wembley Stadium

Published at 11:38am

Slipknot have confirmed they will play their only UK and European show of 2027 at Wembley Stadium, with Marilyn Manson, Lorna Shore and Hatebreed joining them on the bill.

The concert, scheduled for 3 July 2027, forms part of the American heavy metal band’s “sic(est) Stadium Tour”, which will also take in dates across the United States and South America. For fans on this side of the Atlantic, though, there will be just the one chance to see the masked nine-piece live anywhere in the UK or Europe next year.

The band’s management are billing the run as the “ultimate Slipknot experience to date”, promising a brand new set, new staging and a setlist spanning the full breadth of their career. The tour’s title is itself a nod to “(sic)”, the first full song on the band’s breakthrough 1999 self-titled album.

One date for the whole of Europe – and why that matters

Single-date announcements on this scale are rare, and they change the maths for everyone hoping to be there. With no second UK night and no European leg to fall back on, demand for the Wembley show will be concentrated into one enormous on-sale, and fans are likely to travel from far beyond London to be part of it.

Anyone planning to go would be wise to sort out travel and accommodation early. A one-off stadium date of this magnitude will put serious pressure on hotels around Wembley and transport into north-west London on the night, and both the pre-sale and the general sale are expected to move quickly. It is the kind of announcement that turns a gig into a full-blown expedition for the band’s famously devoted following.

A heavyweight support bill

Fans heading to Wembley will get far more than a headline set. Marilyn Manson, Lorna Shore and Hatebreed have all been confirmed as support for the London show, making for a full evening of heavy music. Elsewhere on the tour, the support cast reads like a who’s who of modern metal and hardcore, with Bring Me The Horizon, Acid Bath, Lamb of God, Motionless In White, Kublai Khan TX, Polyphia, Loathe and Vended all appearing on selected dates.

Wembley Stadium: London’s home of the giant show

There is a reason a show of this size is heading for Wembley. The stadium, with its 90,000 capacity and famous arch, remains the biggest stage in the country – the venue artists graduate to when they have outgrown every arena in Britain. It has become a home for landmark occasions of every kind, from era-defining concerts to the first-ever college football game played at the stadium, while next door major tours continue to be announced for Wembley Arena. A masked metal band taking over the national stadium underlines just how far the genre has travelled into the mainstream.

The London date also continues a strong run for big-ticket live music in the capital, with the winter gig season at the O2 Arena set to be headlined by the likes of Mariah Carey, Muse and Kasabian.

Fan event at Wembley before tickets go on sale

Following the announcement, Slipknot have invited fans to a special event at Wembley Stadium on Monday 28 September, running from 5pm to 9pm. Attendees will be able to buy tickets before they go on pre-sale and general sale to the public, alongside a pop-up shop selling exclusive and limited merchandise. The first 500 ticket buyers will receive a free event poster featuring exclusive artwork, and at sunset fans will be encouraged to gather around a 30-foot high flaming Slipknot Tribal S symbol. A parallel event will also be held in Los Angeles.

New music and a new era

The tour announcement follows the release of “Arsenal”, the band’s new single earlier this month – their first in more than three years. The track is also their first recording since the departure of turntablist Sid Wilson, who left the band in August, and keyboardist-sampler Craig Jones, who departed in 2023.

The current line-up features Shawn Crahan, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Jim Root, Alessandro Venturella, Michael Pfaff and Eloy Casagrande.

Since forming in 1995, the Iowa band have released seven studio albums and sold more than 30 million records worldwide. They have been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards, winning one, with their most recent album, “The End, So Far”, arriving in 2022.

When do tickets go on sale?

Slipknot’s artist tour pre-sale begins at 10am BST on Tuesday 29 September, with the general sale starting at 10am BST on Friday 2 October. For more information and tickets, fans are being directed to slipknot1.com.
