Londoners can eat their way through 125 years of British food without spending a penny next month, as a free food tasting in Shoreditch lands this October.
Butter brand Lurpak will open the doors of its “Good Food Vault” at Kachette on Old Street from Wednesday 7 October to Friday 9 October, inviting guests to a complimentary four-course immersive dining session charting four eras of the nation’s cooking.
Each sitting begins with a non-alcoholic welcome drink before diners are taken on a journey through more than a century of British dishes, staged to mark the brand’s 125th anniversary.

When is the free tasting and how do I get tickets?
There are three sittings each day — at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm — across the three days, and every ticket is completely free.
Places are being allocated through an online ballot at the event’s official booking site, lurpak125event.co.uk, and with no cost attached, demand is expected to be brisk.
What else is on in the area?
Shoreditch is no stranger to big occasions, having recently welcomed the Saucony Run Shoreditch Half, which saw 12,000 runners take over the streets of east London.
Anyone heading into the area next month may also want to check the capital’s packed events calendar for road closures and bus diversions that could affect their journey.
