A popular London matcha brand has opened its eighth store in the capital, choosing a spot opposite Liverpool Street station for its latest venture.

Jenki, known for its premium matcha beverages, opened the new outlet on Thursday, following the recent launch of its Soho branch.

Further expansions are planned for St Paul’s and Marylebone, with both new sites expected to open before the end of the year.

The new Liverpool Street location has been designed by Studio Rain Wu in collaboration with Storey, drawing inspiration from its surroundings. The bar sits within The Livery, a historic building with sandstone walls and original cornices.

The design references the old Underground station entrance opposite, incorporating similar curved forms and tiling in the central whisking bar. The curved counter, finished in hojicha-brown tiles, is designed to manage customer flow in the busy commuter location.

Jenki’s signature green Douglas fir panelling, a recurring feature across its London bars, is paired with industrial finishes including stainless steel and polished concrete.

London’s matcha scene continues to grow, with specialist bars becoming a fixture in the capital’s coffee culture.

London Streets has been covering Yankee Candle at The O2 and Archway’s record store this week.
