Man admits public decency offence after incident at O2 Arena concert

A man has admitted committing an act outraging public decency after an incident at a concert at the O2 Arena in North Greenwich.

Glendon Marshall, 23, from Northolt, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday, November 2.

The charge relates to an incident at the venue on March 25, when a woman in her 20s reported being approached from behind by a man during a concert by American rapper Gunna.

Marshall is yet to enter a plea to a second charge of sexual assault by touching, and that charge remains outstanding. He has not been convicted of sexual assault.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to the O2 Arena at 8.20pm to reports of a sexual assault, and a man was swiftly arrested after being held by staff at the venue.

Outraging public decency is a common-law offence in England and Wales, covering acts of an obscene nature carried out in public where at least two people were present or could have witnessed them.

At the time, the O2 Arena described the incident as isolated and said the safety and wellbeing of guests is its priority.

Gunna is an American rapper with more than six million followers on Instagram.

Other recent crime coverage includes a man charged with attempted murder after an Islington shooting and stabbing and a British Transport Police CCTV appeal over an alleged assault on the Central line.
