Emergency services have rushed to a reported fire on Kilburn High Road, with multiple fire engines, paramedics and police vehicles at the scene as firefighters tackle the blaze.

The road was reportedly closed during the incident but has since reopened. The London Fire Brigade has been contacted for comment, and no further details have been confirmed yet.

Kilburn High Road is a busy high street in north-west London, lined with shops and restaurants and served by Kilburn High Road station. No injuries or cause have been confirmed at this stage.

Update: Police have since blocked the eastbound side of Kilburn High Road at the junction of Iverson Road and Cavendish Road, and emergency tape is in place near Nando’s at Palmerston Road. Reports of a flat fire above a restaurant are unconfirmed and are being checked with the London Fire Brigade.

This is a developing story. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.

Fire crews have dealt with a number of blazes across London in recent days, including a house fire in Blackheath that destroyed a home and a flat fire in North Cheam from which five people escaped.

Update: Kilburn High Road has now reopened in both directions near Brondesbury Station following the earlier building fire. Reports of smoke inside Nando’s prompted the restaurant to close, though the source of the fire is yet to be confirmed by the fire brigade.
