A man aged 58 is in hospital after being stabbed at a Boots pharmacy on Kilburn High Road while trying to stop a shoplifter.
The incident happened at around 10.30am this morning (30 October) at Boots near West End Lane in Kilburn. A 58-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds, but his injuries are not life-changing.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “At around 10:30hrs officers were called to reports of a stabbing at a pharmacy in Kilburn High Road, NW6. Officers responded alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a 58-year-old man with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment where his injuries were deemed non-life changing.”
The spokesperson added: “The 58-year-old member of the public is understood to have intervened alongside the store’s security staff to prevent a shoplifter from leaving the pharmacy.”
No arrests have been made and urgent enquiries are ongoing to locate the suspect.
The stabbing is a separate incident from the fire on Kilburn High Road earlier in the day, which left four people in hospital, and from the attempted murder investigation in Plaistow after a teenager was stabbed at a Halloween party — a day of serious incidents across the capital’s high streets.
