A prisoner at HMP Thameside is due to appear before the Crown Court accused of stalking one victim and blackmailing three people.
Dylan Brown, 33, who lists his address as the south-east London prison, appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on September 18 charged with one count of stalking and three counts of blackmail. He was remanded in custody.
The stalking charge concerns an alleged campaign of abusive and threatening messages and emails directed at one person between August 18, 2024 and December 16, 2025, said to have caused “serious alarm or distress”.
The three blackmail counts allege unwarranted demands for money with menaces: against the same victim between August 28 and December 4, 2024, against a second person between December 27, 2024 and January 31, 2025, and against a third person between June 24 and 27, 2023.
Magistrates refused Brown bail after ruling he was likely to commit further offences and could cause injury or fear of injury.
A plea and trial preparation hearing has been listed at Inner London Crown Court on October 16.
