Two 14-year-olds at centre of inquiry after teenager hurt in north London stabbing

Published at 11:21am

A 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being stabbed on Blackstock Road in Finsbury Park late on Monday night, and another boy of the same age has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

The incident happened at around 11.15pm on Monday 26 October. The victim’s injuries have since been confirmed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

The second boy was arrested the following morning and remains in police custody. He has not been charged; the arrest is on suspicion of grievous bodily harm while detectives establish what happened.

Blackstock Road was cordoned off between Rock Street and Seven Sisters Road from about 11.15pm on Monday night. A collapsed forensic tent could be seen just metres from the BlackStock pub as officers turned pedestrians away from the scene.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “The Met takes incidents of this nature very seriously and detectives are working at speed to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault.”

Anyone with information or video footage that could help the investigation is asked to call police on 101, quoting CAD 7176/26OCT26. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The stabbing follows the closure of Blackstock Road on Tuesday morning, when the road was shut between Seven Sisters Road and Rock Street after an emergency services incident. That closure report did not at the time give the nature of the incident.

In a separate case, a man has been charged over a stabbing at Brixton station and is due before Inner London Crown Court next month.
