Pizza chain Caprinos has opened a new branch in Greenwich, marking its arrival in the borough with a week of special launch discounts for customers.

The new restaurant, at 106 Trafalgar Road, SE10 9UW, opened its doors on Wednesday. It is the sixth London store for the growing pizza brand, which has been steadily expanding its presence across the capital.

Opening day brought the biggest bargain of the week, with customers able to claim 50 per cent off the entire menu. But anyone who missed the launch-day rush can still grab a discount, with 25 per cent off available from today (Friday) until Sunday, 18 October. The discounts apply across the whole menu, so diners can sample everything from the signature pizzas to the dessert options at a reduced price.

The Greenwich branch serves the full Caprinos menu. Among the pizza options are the Asian Classic Mix, topped with tandoori chicken, a Vegetarian Supreme and the Caprinos Special, which combines tandoori chicken with spicy beef.

The chain also offers Detroit-style pizzas, the thick, rectangular, cheese-loaded format that originated in Michigan, alongside chocolate dessert pizzas for those with a sweet tooth. The wider menu stretches to side dishes, loaded fries, wraps, salads and milkshakes.

Co-founders Gul Nawaz and Khalil Rehman said they were delighted to open the new store in Greenwich and looked forward to welcoming their first customers on Trafalgar Road. They added that they want every Caprinos branch to become part of its local community, built on quality ingredients, exciting flavours and good value, and said they hoped the new restaurant would become a “new favourite for pizza night” for Greenwich diners.

The opening adds another option to Greenwich’s busy food and drink scene. Trafalgar Road runs through the heart of east Greenwich, a short walk from the riverside, the Old Royal Naval College and the bustle of Greenwich town centre, and its parade of shops, cafes and takeaways serves a dense residential neighbourhood as well as visitors drawn to the area’s maritime heritage. The street has long been a launchpad for both independent businesses and national brands, thanks to its heavy footfall and its mix of longtime residents and newcomers.

Competition for the borough’s pizza lovers is fierce, with independent pizzerias and big-name chains already well established around Greenwich Church Street, the market and the O2 peninsula. Caprinos will be hoping its launch-week discounts, and a tandoori-inspired menu that sets it apart from more traditional Italian-style rivals, help it win over local customers quickly.

The brand’s arrival in SE10 continues its push across London. A sixth store in the capital is a significant milestone for a chain that has built its reputation on bold flavours and value deals, and choosing Greenwich — one of London’s most visited boroughs, home to the Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory and a thriving evening economy — signals real confidence in the area’s appetite for new dining options.

New openings have provided bright spots for the borough’s hospitality sector, which has seen a string of changes in recent months. In Plumstead, the Fox & Hounds is preparing to welcome new father-and-son landlords Roy and Taylor, who have promised to revive the historic pub.

And with the festive season on the horizon, there is plenty more for residents to look forward to, including the Humbug Christmas show, which is moving to Greenwich Borough Hall for 2026.

For anyone planning to try the new branch this weekend, the key details are simple: Caprinos is now open at 106 Trafalgar Road, London SE10 9UW, and the 25 per cent launch discount runs until Sunday, 18 October. Once the opening week is over, the branch will trade as normal — giving Greenwich a new contender in the battle for the borough’s best pizza night.
