Police appeal to find Plumstead teenager missing for four days

Published at 1:00pm

Police are searching for a 14-year-old boy from Plumstead who has been missing for four days.

Zaine, 14, was last seen at 4am on Sunday, 25 October. The Metropolitan Police released an appeal for information on Wednesday, 28 October, three days after he was last seen.

He is known to frequent areas around Woolwich and Plumstead, and police are asking people in those areas in particular to look out for him and to share the appeal.

Days after his disappearance, he has still not been found.

The force has not shared further descriptions or details that could help identify Zaine in public, and the appeal carries only his first name, his age and the areas where he is known to spend time.

Anyone with information is asked to call police quoting reference CAD 5985/27OCT. If you believe you have seen Zaine, or you know where he might be, police ask that you get in touch straight away rather than approaching him yourself. Anyone who is concerned for his immediate safety should call 999.

Missing-person appeals of this kind rely heavily on sightings from the public, and even a small detail — where and when someone was seen — can help officers narrow down where to look next.

Police in south-east London have previously appealed for help finding teenagers who went missing in the capital, including a 15-year-old from Dartford who was believed to have taken a train to London. Appeals are often shared widely by local residents, and officers regularly urge anyone who recognises a missing young person from a photograph to come forward, even if they are unsure.

Plumstead sits in the London Borough of Greenwich, close to Woolwich, and the appeal is being shared across the local area. More from the area can be found in our coverage of Plumstead and Greenwich.

Anyone with information about Zaine is asked to contact police quoting CAD 5985/27OCT.
