Man who died in Stratford fall named as inquest opens

Published at 5:10pm

A man who died after falling from height in Stratford has been named as 32-year-old Viswanth Dhara.

Mr Dhara was declared dead at 5.30pm on Friday, 16 October, in West Ham Lane, outside a hotel he was staying in.

Senior coroner Graeme Irvine opened an inquest into his death at East London Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, 4 November.

The court heard Mr Dhara’s last known address was on Bounds Green Road in Wood Green. A post-mortem gave his cause of death as multiple injuries caused by a fall from height.

Mr Irvine said that because the death could not be described as a natural one, an inquest would be opened and adjourned until a later date.

An inquest is opened when a death is sudden or unexplained, and is usually adjourned while reports and evidence are prepared ahead of a full hearing.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was found unconscious. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
