When: Sunday 8 November
Where: Sanderstead, Riddlesdown, East Croydon and Norwood Junction
What: no trains at Sanderstead and Riddlesdown; replacement buses on other affected routes
Two Croydon stations will be left without trains for much of Sunday as engineering work brings major changes to Southern services across the borough.
Sanderstead and Riddlesdown will have no train or replacement bus service for nearly all of the closure, while passengers travelling through East Croydon and Norwood Junction will also face changes.
The work closes lines in the Norwood Junction and East Croydon area, as well as all lines between South Croydon and Oxted, East Grinstead and Uckfield.
Passengers travelling to or from Sanderstead are being advised to use Purley Oaks instead, while those using Riddlesdown should travel from Purley. Replacement buses will run between Purley and East Grinstead, calling at Upper Warlingham and Oxted, and buses will also operate between Oxted and Crowborough or Uckfield, Upper Warlingham and Woldingham, and Oxted and East Grinstead.
Elsewhere in Croydon, trains which normally run between London Bridge and East Croydon via Peckham Rye will instead operate between Tulse Hill and Caterham or Tattenham Corner via East Croydon. Trains between London Bridge and Caterham via Norwood Junction will not run, and services which normally run between London Victoria and London Bridge will operate between Victoria and Crystal Palace only. Replacement buses will run between London Bridge and Tulse Hill via Peckham Rye, additionally calling at Herne Hill.
The disruption comes on the same Sunday that Southeastern services on the Hayes line are also affected, with trains from Charing Cross running only as far as Lewisham in the morning. Passengers are advised to allow extra time and check live departure information before travelling.
Road users in the borough face disruption of their own, with Addington Road closed in both directions after a burst water main.
