Long M25 delays after crash near Cobham services

Published at 1:01pm

Drivers on the M25 faced long delays on Tuesday after a crash on the clockwise carriageway near Cobham services.

The crash happened after Junction 10 for the A3, with congestion reaching back to Cobham Services itself. The stretch is one of the busiest on the orbital motorway, carrying traffic between the M25’s Surrey section and the A3 towards Guildford and London.

Junction 10 at Wisley is where the M25 meets the A3, and Cobham services sit just along the motorway from it, between junctions 9 and 10. Any incident in this area tends to back traffic up quickly, particularly on a weekday when both commuter and long-distance traffic use the route.

No details of the vehicles involved, any injuries, lane closures or how long the disruption would last have been confirmed. Drivers heading through the area were advised to check their route before setting off and to allow extra time for their journeys.

The incident is the latest disruption on the M25 this week. Earlier on Tuesday, all lanes were stopped near Waltham Cross, while a live incident shut the carriageway there. A series of overnight closures is also in place across the motorway this week, as set out in our guide to the week’s M25 closures.

Motorists are advised to check live traffic updates before travelling and to consider an alternative route where possible.
