Thousands of runners will race along London City Airport’s runway after dark this weekend as Nike’s After Dark Tour returns to the capital.
The women-focused 10K takes place on Saturday, October 17, with participants running through east London after sunset.
Unlike traditional road races, the event gives runners the chance to race along the airport’s runway, with views of the London skyline. The race starts and finishes at Silverworks Island in the Royal Docks.
Nike describes the route as fast and flat, designed to help runners chase personal bests. The course also winds through surrounding streets and waterfront areas.
The event site at Silverworks Island, Dockside Road, E16 2BU, opens at 3pm on Saturday. Runners set off in waves between 6:30pm and 7pm, depending on predicted finishing times, split into four waves ranging from those expecting to finish in under 50 minutes to more relaxed paces.
This is part of Nike’s global After Dark Tour, visiting seven cities in 2026 including Shanghai, Sydney, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Manila and Mumbai.
London Streets has been covering the Mini London Marathon for kids and London Trams half-term disruption this week.
