Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood is set to swap the ballroom for the convent — starring as Mother Superior in a new touring production of Sister Act.
The stage musical, based on the beloved 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg, is heading out on tour with a stop in London.
From Strictly to the stage
Revel Horwood is one of the most recognisable faces on British television thanks to his long-running role as the notoriously tough judge on Strictly Come Dancing.
But he’s also a seasoned theatre performer and director, making him a natural fit for the formidable Mother Superior — the no-nonsense head of the convent where disco singer Deloris Van Cartier hides from the mob.
A feel-good favourite
Sister Act the musical features original music by Alan Menken, the legendary composer behind Disney classics including Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin.
The story follows Deloris as she takes refuge in a convent and transforms its choir — with hilarious and heartwarming results. It’s become a firm favourite with audiences since its stage debut.
London dates
Full tour dates including the London run will be confirmed. Theatre fans are advised to book early — with Revel Horwood’s star power attached, tickets are likely to be in high demand.
A divine comedy that’s guaranteed to lift the spirits.
