Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was stabbed at a community centre in Plaistow, Newham, during a Halloween party.
The incident took place around 7.45pm on Wednesday 28 October at a Halloween party in James Close. An 18-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the torso and arms after eight to 10 masked men entered the party.
The victim was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service with life-threatening injuries. He is currently assessed as being in a stable condition, although his injuries may be life-changing.
Detectives are treating the attack as attempted murder and an investigation has been launched. No arrests have been made, and officers are urging anyone who may have information to come forward.
Appeal to partygoers
Detective Inspector Sam Lockstone, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are grateful to those who have come forward so far. However, there were a lot of young people at the party who fled when the stabbing happened, and it is really important that they contact police and offer any information they can to help with our enquiries.”
He added: “The victim was subject to a violent attack, and we want to know if you have any video footage taken during or after the party or witnessed anything that could help with our investigation. If you don’t want to contact police directly, you can pass information anonymously onto Crimestoppers.”
Those with information can contact police via 101, quoting CAD 6525/28OCT26, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The appeal comes days after a separate double stabbing in Plaistow, and investigators are keen to hear from anyone who was at the James Close party — particularly young people who left quickly when the attack happened and may hold phone footage or have seen the masked group arrive or leave. Detectives have stressed that information can be passed anonymously, and that even a short clip or a brief description could prove decisive in identifying those responsible.
