M25 grinds to a halt near Dartford after crash closes lanes

Published at 11:53am

A crash has brought traffic to a standstill on the M25 near Dartford this morning, with all lanes stopped on the anticlockwise carriageway and queues building towards the A2.

The collision was first reported at around 9.47am just after J1b for the A296. Traffic was brought to a complete halt at about 10.50am while emergency services deal with the scene.

Congestion is stretching back towards J2 for the A2 at Darenth, and drivers approaching the area are being urged to allow significant extra time for their journeys. There is no confirmed time for the lanes to reopen.

This is a developing story — follow our live updates below as the situation changes.
