Axel Rudakubana has appeared at the Old Bailey via videolink over allegations he attacked prison officers at HMP Belmarsh.
The 20-year-old, who is serving a life sentence for the Southport murders, appeared from Broadmoor secure hospital for a plea and trial preparation hearing on Monday, October 19.
He was not asked to enter pleas during the brief hearing. A trial date has been set for October next year, with a further review scheduled for February.
Rudakubana faces charges including attempting to cause grievous bodily harm over an alleged incident on May 8, 2025, when prosecutors claim he threw boiling water mixed with sugar through his cell door hatch at a prison officer.
He is also charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and possession of an offensive weapon in prison.
This is a developing story.
