All lines between St Pancras and Luton are currently closed while emergency services work at the scene. Thameslink services may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, or revised.
The incident occurred between St Pancras International and St Albans City. National Rail has warned the disruption could last until 5pm or longer.
Passengers are advised to check before travelling and allow extra time for their journeys. Alternative routes may be available via London Underground and bus services.
