A giant Alice in Wonderland experience is set to open in London this November, inviting visitors to tumble down the rabbit hole into a 26,000 sq ft world of theatrical storytelling, live actors and multisensory sets.

Alice Immersive Wonderland will open at Dock X in Canada Water on November 13, offering a two-hour journey through 10 interactive spaces inspired by Lewis Carroll’s much-loved classic tale.

Visitors will be encouraged to follow their curiosity and imagination as they explore richly detailed environments drawn from the story. The adventure takes in spaces including the Doors Room and the Den of the Caterpillar, where guests will be confronted with the tale’s famous philosophical question: “Who are you?”

What visitors will discover inside

In the Queen’s Court, guests will come face to face with the Queen’s eccentric servants and take part in games including Flamingolf. The same area is home to Lewis Castle, a space dedicated to the history of Alice in Wonderland and the life of Lewis Carroll himself, giving the experience an educational thread alongside its theatrical spectacle.

Each of the 10 spaces has been designed to reward curiosity, with theatrical storytelling woven through the journey from the first room to the last. The two-hour visit builds towards a grand finale in the Hall of Dreams, which will use 360-degree projection mapping to surround visitors with the sights and sounds of Wonderland.

The team behind the production

The experience has been produced by French company Cités Immersives in collaboration with the Rivaj Group and Encore Pro. The creative team has been guided by an Expert Advisory Committee that includes English Literature specialists Professor Robert Douglas-Fairhurst and Lawrence Gasquet, lending the production a scholarly grounding in Carroll’s work and its enduring legacy.

A tea party with a twist

For those who want to linger a little longer, the experience will also include The Alice Tea Party, an immersive tea room serving themed culinary creations inspired by the story. It promises a fitting finale to the visit for anyone who has worked up an appetite exploring the 10 spaces.

Opening just before the festive season, the attraction is being positioned as an ideal day out for friends, families and fans of the Alice in Wonderland universe, arriving at a time of year when demand for indoor attractions and group outings traditionally peaks.

London’s immersive boom shows no sign of slowing

The new opening is the latest in a wave of large-scale immersive attractions to arrive in the capital, as audiences continue to flock to experiential days out. Recent additions have ranged from a Mount Everest VR experience in Camden to family favourites such as the adventure trail at London Zoo honouring the real bear behind Winnie-the-Pooh.

Families in particular are well served this season. Chessington has unveiled a £50m Minecraft land complete with the world’s first themed hotel and rollercoaster, adding to a packed calendar of attractions competing for attention in the run-up to Christmas.

Tickets and practical information

A waitlist opens on September 29, giving fans the chance to register for exclusive pre-sale access before tickets go on general sale on October 6.

Tickets are priced from £26 for adults and from £19 for children aged four and over, with family tickets also available. Visitors should allow around two hours to explore all 10 of the experience’s interactive spaces.

Anyone hoping to visit is advised to join the waitlist for the best chance of securing pre-sale tickets, and to book directly through the official website at aliceimmersivewonderland.com once sales open. With family tickets on offer and a two-hour runtime, it is an easy half-day out to plan, and with the November opening landing just ahead of the festive season, booking early is likely to be wise.
