Bluewater has emerged as the clear winner in south-east London’s Superloop wishlist, with readers naming the Kent shopping centre as the number-one choice for the next express bus link.

Asked where the Superloop should go next, around 140 readers responded — and Bluewater came out on top with more than 20 votes, ahead of Eltham, Lewisham and Bromley. Many called for direct services from Lewisham, Bromley, Eltham, North Greenwich and Thamesmead to the retail hub. The message is clear: south-east London wants a Superloop Bluewater bus link.

Eltham was the second most-requested destination, with residents pointing out the area has been left out of the Superloop network so far. Suggested routes included links to central London, Bluewater, Croydon and Woolwich.

Lewisham ranked third, with the most common call being a direct Lewisham-to-Bluewater service, while Bromley — already served by the network — was fourth, with readers wanting more connections to Bluewater, Greenwich, Swanley and central London.

Orpington, Sidcup, Welling, Bexleyheath, Abbey Wood, North Greenwich and Thamesmead completed the top ten, with many asking for faster links into central London and to key hubs like the Elizabeth line at Abbey Wood.

The Superloop currently serves parts of south-east London through routes SL3, SL4 and SL11. TfL is planning an SL15 service between Clapham Junction and Eltham for 2027, alongside a further route linking central and south London with Clapham Junction. Readers may recall TfL’s recent rejection of a Superloop SL4 extension to Bromley North, while bus changes elsewhere in the capital continue to spark debate.

The appetite for express buses in the south-east shows no sign of slowing — though whether TfL will answer the call for Bluewater remains to be seen.
