An Amy Winehouse tribute concert celebrating 20 years of Back to Black will take over the Roundhouse this October, honouring one of Camden’s most beloved voices on home turf.

Titled Back To Black 20, the one-night show will see Winehouse’s original band perform the record in full at the Camden venue on Wednesday 21 October — arriving just days ahead of the album’s 20th anniversary.

The evening is being shaped by the album’s original producers, Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, alongside the Amy Winehouse Band, the musicians who toured and recorded with the singer at the height of her career.

Guest vocalists announced so far include BRIT Award winner Jorja Smith and soul singer Sasha Keable, with further names expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Released in October 2006, Back to Black went on to become one of the best-selling British albums of all time, winning five Grammy Awards and cementing Winehouse’s reputation as one of the great voices of her generation.

The Camden setting is a fitting one. Winehouse made the borough her home and remains one of its most celebrated figures, with fans still flocking to the market stalls of Camden where her statue stands. The announcement also adds to a year of landmark stage anniversaries in the capital, with Wicked marking 20 years in the West End.

Tickets for the one-night tribute concert are on sale now, and demand is expected to be fierce.
