A Wimbledon pub is set to reopen later this month after a six-figure investment, following a temporary closure that began today.
The Hand & Racquet on Wimbledon Hill closed temporarily on 2 November for the revamp, which will keep the pub’s traditional charm while introducing modern upgrades, with improvements planned both inside and out.
A spokesperson said: “The Hand & Racquet will be a popular choice for friends, families and sports fans with a good range of food and drinks menus to suit all occasions, whether commuters and customers are stopping by for an after-work drink with colleagues, lunchtime refreshments, looking to watch sport or enjoying a family meal.”
The venue will also launch a new programme of live music and entertainment once it reopens. Customers can browse menus and make bookings through the Greene King app ahead of the reopening.
Full and part-time job opportunities are available at the pub, with positions open in both the kitchen and bar. For bookings and opening times, customers are directed to The Hand & Racquet website.
The reopening comes as local venues continue to invest in their premises: Lewisham’s business awards celebrated the borough’s best venues this week, while house prices fell in 22 London boroughs in the latest official figures.
