Two London tram stops close due to track fault in south London

Published at 11:10am

Londoners are being warned there is no service between two stops on the Tramlink network after a track fault closed part of the line in south London.

Arena and Elmers End, on either end of South Norwood Country Park, are closed due to a track fault at Lebanon Road. The two stops sit on the branch that runs between Wimbledon and Elmers End, with Arena the stop immediately before Elmers End on the eastern end of the network.

Transport for London reported good service on other tram routes.

It is another difficult day for London’s transport network — the Central line is also facing delays after a signal failure at North Acton, and Thameslink trains are hit by a tree blocking the line near Bromley.

Tram passengers should check the TfL status page before travelling and allow extra time for journeys.
