A13 lanes blocked at Rainham after crash as queues build

Published at 2:07pm

Two lanes of the A13 at Rainham are blocked this evening after a crash, with long queues building on the carriageway heading out of town.

The collision happened near the Ferry Lane Interchange on Thursday evening, closing lanes one and two of the three-lane road and leaving drivers facing heavy delays.

Congestion is stretching back to Marsh Way in Dagenham, according to traffic reports, as rush-hour traffic squeezes past the scene in a single lane.

Motorists are being warned to expect delays through the area and to allow extra time for their journeys. The disruption follows an earlier A13 closure near Canning Town and a multi-vehicle crash on the M25 near Brentwood that shut three lanes during rush hour.

Drivers in east London have also faced disruption after an overnight crash shut the A1203 both ways near Limehouse Link.
